In the hush of the night, the silence deep,
Your absence speaks in whispers, where once you'd creep.
The floors echo with memories of your playful paws,
Now empty spaces, an ache without pause.

I linger in the bathroom, ajar door in vain,
Hoping to see you, but met with quiet refrain.
The fridge door opens, no wagging tail in sight,
Just solitude and longing in the dim evening light.

Beside my bedside, your gentle nudge I yearn,
A love so pure, now a cherished concern.
The bedroom echoes with your silent absence,
A home once vibrant, now laced with dissonance.

Who will greet me eagerly when I return from afar?
No joyful bark, no twinkle of a star.
The doggie door stands closed, a reminder stark,
Of your absence, a void left in the park.

Oh, my little son, my faithful friend,
Though small in size, your love knew no end.
We sift through photos, a flood of bittersweet,
Reliving moments, our hearts skip a beat.

In videos, you dance with life and grace,
A fleeting joy, a familiar embrace.
But when the screen fades, the ache returns anew,
For our home is but a shadow, missing you.

We miss you dearly, our cherished one,
In the quiet hours, beneath the setting sun.
A companion, a light now gone from sight,
Yet in our hearts, you forever alight.

Version 2:

In the quiet of the night, your absence looms,
No more the patter of paws, the light in dark rooms.
I take a bath, half-expecting you to appear,
But the doorway stays empty, devoid of your cheer.

Your bed sits cold, untouched by your fur,
No longer do I hear your eager stir.
Opening the fridge, I find no wagging tail,
Just the emptiness of a love that didn't fail.

Drinking my coffee, I miss your lively tease,
No more rubbing against me, seeking to please.
The bedroom feels hollow, devoid of your grace,
A once-vibrant home now an empty space.

Who'll miss me now when I pack for a trip?
No warm welcome home, just silence's grip.
Passing the doggie door, I pause in dismay,
Yearning to open it for you to play.

My little dog, my dear faithful friend,
Though small, your absence feels like the end.
We look at your photos, each a cherished link,
Bringing smiles and tears with every blink.

In videos, you're alive again, full of zest,
A joy to watch, but it deepens our unrest.
For when they end, reality again sets in,
You're gone, replaced by silence’s song to sing.

We miss you, our boy, in the quiet of the night,
Your memory a beacon, a soft guiding light.
Though you're no longer here, you'll forever remain,
In our hearts, in our thoughts, amidst the silent pain.

Version 3:

In the stillness of the night, your absence is keen,
No patter of paws, no sight of you to be seen.
As I take a bath, I half-expect you to appear,
But the silence echoes, devoid of your cheer.

Your empty bed whispers of days gone by,
No wagging tail, just an ache and a sigh.
Opening the fridge, a pang of loss stings,
No eager eyes, no joyful tail-wagging things.

Sipping my coffee, I miss your playful tease,
No warm body brushing against my knees.
The bedroom feels empty, devoid of your grace,
A once lively home now a hollow place.

Who'll show they'll miss me when I pack to depart?
No excited greeting, just a tugging at my heart.
Passing the doggie door, I'm struck by the space,
Yearning to open it, imagining your joyful face.

My little friend, my companion so dear,
Your absence weighs heavy, brings a tear.
Looking at your photos, each one a sweet pain,
Bringing solace and sorrow, a bittersweet refrain.

In videos, you're alive, a burst of joy and zest,
But as they end, reality comes to crest.
You're gone, and our home feels empty and stark,
Yet your spirit lingers, leaving an indelible mark.

We miss you dearly, our precious one,
In the quiet moments, when the day is done.
Though you've left us, your love will remain,
In our hearts forever, amidst the silent pain.

Tekkies! … Tekkies! …
The house is too quiet at night,
Your tiptoeing sounds on its wooden floors no more,
I take a bath and look at the bathroom door ajar expecting you to peek around the corner, but find only absence,
Where previously I was annoyed at times picking up your poop, now I wish for it to be there only one more time, again,
Your bed is empty,
You’re not there when I open the fridge door,
I drink my coffee alone at night, missing your nuisance presence,
When I sit on my bedside I miss you rubbing up against my leg, showing you loved me and cared about me being there,
The bedroom is empty,
The house is quiet,
A home no more.
Who’s going to show ‘I’ll be missed now’ when I pack my bags to leave on a trip?
When I return from work, there’s no one awaiting to meet me at the door, happy to see me once more.
I walk past the back door, seeing your doggie door closed, and I instinctively want to open it for you so that you may go outside to go and lie on the lush green lawn while basking in the sun’s warm rays.
I miss you my boy, my little dog, my little son. You may have been small, but you were omnipresent in our lives. We sorted through your photos yesterday, thousands of them. Looking at you on the videos, comes with mixed feelings – it feels good again seeing you being alive, being youthful, being yourself again, alas when the videos stops the sadness sets in knowing you are no more. Our home is quiet, bleak, dark at night, without you. We miss you my boy…
