For Maggie
Thirty years, my love, my light,
Through storm and calm, through day and night.
From where we stood, so young, so bold,
To now—a love more rich than gold.
You are my anchor, strong and true,
A heart so warm, a soul so blue.
Through trials fierce and winds so high,
Your love stood firm—our battle cry.
Through every thread you sew with care,
And every meal, beyond compare,
Through every touch, each knowing glance,
You wove with me this great romance.
A thousand lamps, their flames may glow,
But none as bright as the love you show.
Each porcelain doll upon your shelf,
Still pales beside your heart itself.
Maggie, my heart, my guiding star,
No matter where, no matter far,
Through paths uncertain, rough terrain,
Your hand in mine, we rise again.
And though the years may silver thread,
And time may mark where youth has fled,
Still, you remain my sweetest grace,
My home, my world, my heart’s embrace.
So on this day, this love I vow,
As deep as then, as strong as now,
Through all to come, through all we’ve been,
My Maggie—love, my soul, my kin.
