Who Am I?

Spirit full of longing, why do you hold,
My heart captive, leaving me cold and bold

I sit here, curled up, feeling alone,
Hiding my emotions, to no one shown

The pain of solitude, eating me alive,
Reducing my figure, to a mere skeletal drive

The grass is tough, my body frail,
No one to counter, the defenseless tale

Who am I, from my depths it cries,
Can someone help uncover, my hidden guise

Around me, a transparent wall I built,
To protect from attacks, it once fulfilled

But with repentance, the wall fell apart,
Leaving me vulnerable, with an open heart

Love appeared, as the darkness cleared,
Now I rest, content, no more fear

I am what I am, I cannot change,
My true self, forever in range.
