My Lasting Minutes

The sky above is overcast,
Humidity weighs heavy, unsurpassed
But a ray of sun shines on the tower
Of the colossal church, in its full power

Yet, my thoughts are not there
But with her, the girl I reflect and share
Before I was born, my destiny was set
To love you, my dear, I'll never forget

You're the one who steals my heart
I'm the one, stolen by your art
Our love beats fast, in our throats it lies
No other woe, no other guise

You had to come my way, my love
As if given to me from above
And now, we face the heat and the pressure
But together, we'll move mountains, beyond all measure

The sun may set, and darkness may come
But in our love, we'll always overcome
We'll bridge the setbacks, with a bond so true
Together, me and you, my dove, we'll make it through

So I wrote this poem, to express my love so fair
And let you know, how much I truly care
The overcast sky and heavy humidity, I don't care
As long as I have you, my love, to share.
