A modern day version of Dorothea Mackellar's poem, My Country

I love a sunburnt country,
Of ancient tales and endless skies,
Of rugged ranges and sweeping plains,
And beauty that fills my eyes.

I love the sound of kookaburras,
And the songs of magpies sweet,
The rustling leaves of eucalyptus trees,
And the patter of kangaroo's feet.

I love the land of Uluru,
And the Great Barrier Reef's splendour,
Of pristine beaches and turquoise seas,
And sunsets that leave me in wonder.

I love the Aussie larrikin spirit,
And the mateship that binds us tight,
In times of trouble and in times of joy,
We stand together in the light.

I love the stories of Dreamtime,
And the land that has been here forever,
Australia, a place of ancient lore,
And modern life that's just as clever.

I love this sunburnt country,
Of golden sand and crimson skies,
Australia, a land that fills my heart,
And leaves me with grateful eyes.
