No battle came, no banners flew,
No throne was claimed in open view.
Just small concessions, day by day,
Until a voice had slipped away.

To keep the peace a tongue was held,
While silent wounds were never quelled.
The house stood firm, yet something died—
A lifelong care was set aside.

For love cannot by power grow,
Whichever way the currents flow.
A marriage thrives where grace remains,
Not one who rules, and one who wanes.
